About

Hello and welcome to my site! In my research and instructional design activities, I seek to systematically investigate the intersection of social psychology and instructional technologies. Specifically, I seek to understand how instructional technologies differentially and dynamically interact with the social psychological processes underlying teaching and learning. My main research interests involve examining the ways in which student-to-student relationships and computer-mediated communication affect motivation and achievement in online cooperative learning. While I am immersed in and shaped by technology, I also believe it demands a lot of us psychologically and emotionally and, whenever possible, I try to disconnect — preferably on a mountain.
